The first cold night ....
First the northbound thru hikers rush in like hordes of spawning salmon - then the action slows and changes from thru-hiker to section hikers - then to the doldrums of summer - when one day is busy and the next is dead.
THEN - after the first brisk night sometime in September - folks start imagining less sweat and insects and come rushing back into the beginning of September when all the leaves have fallen.
Here we are now - September 5th - and we've already had a few cooler nights.
The reservations are picking up fast and furious for both accomodations and shuttles - and we are looking forward to our 3rd great Autumn run - since opening up in March of 2014 !
THANKS EVERYONE !
